My emails are landing in Promotions not Spam. Is that still bad?

GlockApps tests show emails are not going to spam — great. But 40% land in Gmail Promotions tab instead of Primary. Opens are 55%.
Promotions tab is way better than spam, but Primary is the goal. Tips to move from Promotions to Primary: 1. Remove all tracking pixels. 2. Remove all links from the first email. 3. Shorten emails to under 75 words. 4. Use plain text formatting, no HTML. 5. Avoid words that trigger promotional classification.
4%+ reply rate with Promotions placement is actually decent. Focus on reply rate as your true metric. If you are getting replies and meetings, Promotions placement is not a deal-breaker.

landing in Promotions instead of Primary is still a problem even if some emails get through. I'd focus on removing tracking pixels first — that's usually the #1 reason emails land in Promotions instead of Primary. turn off open tracking and watch what happens

also keep emails under 75 words and remove ALL links from email 1. save the link for the follow-up. plain text, short, no tracking = Primary inbox almost every time on properly warmed Google Workspace inboxes
