Google Workspace or Outlook 365 for cold email? The answer is both

justdan · 2026-01-06 · 1,890 views

Google Workspace performs better when emailing Gmail recipients. Outlook 365 performs better for Microsoft/Outlook recipients. If you only use one, you leave performance on the table.

I run a 60/40 split. 60% Google Workspace inboxes, 40% Outlook. I route emails based on the recipient's email provider. Gmail recipients get emails from Google Workspace. Outlook recipients get emails from Outlook inboxes.

The result: 15% higher average reply rate compared to using only Google Workspace. The cross-platform matching effect is real and measurable.

PuzzleInbox offers both Google Workspace and Outlook inboxes, so you can run this split strategy easily. Set up your sending platform to route based on recipient domain and watch your deliverability improve.

the 60/40 split is exactly what we run. 60% Google Workspace, 40% Outlook. the deliverability improvement from matching sender platform to recipient platform is real and measurable

15% higher reply rate just from platform matching is significant. at scale that's hundreds of extra replies per month. most people don't think about this at all

how do you route based on recipient domain? does Instantly or Smartlead have that feature built in or do you need to split campaigns manually?
