Best B2B lead databases in 2026 compared. Apollo, ZoomInfo, Cognism, and more

Tested 6 B2B lead databases over the past year. Here is my honest comparison on accuracy, coverage, and value for cold email.

Apollo: Best overall value. Email accuracy: 88-92%. Massive database. Free tier is generous (10K credits/month). Paid plans start at $50/month. Best for: most cold email senders. My top recommendation.

ZoomInfo: Highest data quality. Email accuracy: 92-96%. But pricing starts at $15K+/year. Best for: enterprise sales teams with budget. Overkill for most cold emailers.

Cognism: Strong for European data specifically. Email accuracy: 87-91%. GDPR-compliant data sourcing. Pricing: $1K+/month. Best for: teams targeting EU prospects heavily.

Lusha: Good for phone numbers specifically. Email accuracy: 83-87%. Chrome extension is handy. Pricing: starts at $36/month. Best for: teams that need phone numbers alongside email.

RocketReach: Solid mid-tier option. Email accuracy: 85-89%. Good coverage for tech roles. Pricing: $53/month. Best for: supplementing Apollo data for hard-to-find contacts.

Lead411: Underrated option. Email accuracy: 86-90%. Includes intent data triggers. Pricing: starts at $99/month. Best for: teams wanting buying intent signals built into their data.

My recommendation for most cold emailers: Start with Apollo free tier. If you need higher accuracy for enterprise prospects, add ZoomInfo. If targeting Europe, supplement with Cognism. Layer NeverBounce or MillionVerifier on top of any provider for verification before sending. No single database is 100% accurate — always verify.

this is the most comprehensive data provider comparison I have seen. the accuracy ranges match our internal testing almost exactly. Apollo at 88-92% for the price is hard to beat. we tested ZoomInfo side by side and yes the data is slightly better but not $15K/year better unless you are enterprise

Apollo free tier is all most people need. I keep saying this. 10K credits/month, 88-92% accuracy, decent filters. you do not need to spend $1K+/month on Cognism or $15K/year on ZoomInfo unless you have very specific data requirements

for recruiting I'd add that Lusha and RocketReach are better than Apollo for finding personal email addresses when people don't have their work email listed. different use case than sales prospecting but worth mentioning

the advice to always layer NeverBounce or MillionVerifier on top is critical. no database is 100% accurate and the cost of bouncing is way higher than the cost of verification. I spend $30/month on verification and it saves me from burning inboxes every single month

tbh Lead411 with intent data is slept on. knowing which companies are actively looking for your type of solution means you're reaching out at the right time. timing is half the battle with cold email. worth the $99/month imo if you can action the intent signals in your copy
